I
have copies of both 'The History and Genealogy of the Hoagland Family in
America' by Daniel Hoogland Carpenter, 1891 and 'Dirck Jansen Hoogland
Family History 1657-1976' by George W. Hoagland.I would be happy to volunteer
to check these books for folks without access. These books are not readily
available; and they are good starting points for genealogical research
for this family. |

I
will do lookups in The Sullivan Expedition of 1779, a list of to Rosters
of the 6,000 men involved in this expedition to punish the Seneca Indians
and drive them from their western New York stronghold. Many members of
the expedition return home to get their families and then settled in the
areas not covering Ontario, Monroe, Livingston, Genesee, and Wyoming Counties.
The book is just a list of the Rosters, and gives the rank, company and
regiment of the men. It is the only complete list of the 6,000 members
of the expedition. |
