Bill Hocutt, 48, of Celeste died late the night of Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 6, 1959, in Dallas, son of George and Louise Hocutt. Bill worked as a meter reader at the family business, Hocutt Inc. in Dallas. Mr. Hocutt proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Celeste. In recent years he served the community as president of the Lions Club.
He was better known as “UnkHiram” to those who enjoyed his writings in the Leonard Graphic and the Celeste Tribune. Mr. Hocutt has been very involved in the Republican Party. Supporting others through local political avenues brought him great joy. Mr. Hocutt was a family man from researching his family’s genealogy to spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was always there to offer a helping hand.
Survivors are his wife of 22 years, Darlene Hocutt of Celeste; daughters and son-in-law Crystal Nicole and Randal Howard of Blue Ridge and Ashley Michelle Hocutt of Greenville; his parents and stepmother, George and Martha Hocutt of Wills Point and Louise Hocutt of Quinlan; brother and stepbrothers Jerry Hocutt, Mike and Cindy Hammer and Kevin and Wendy Hammer; a sister, Terrie Hocutt; and two grandchildren, “Billy” William David Howard and James “Hippie” Raymond Sain Jr.
