Oregon Today
by Judy Sander Cockrell
So, what do bandleader Doc Severinsen, bionic woman, Linsay Wagner, and Bigfoot all have in common? They are all from my state of the week,
Oregon!
Before I take you to my favorite Oregon site, a few facts for those of you who have not had the pleasure to visit this beautiful northwestern state.
Surrounded by Idaho, Nevada, California, Washington and the Pacific Ocean, Oregon is our countries 33 state of the union. Within it's 97,000
Square miles, it holds 36 counties, and claims the city of Salem as its capitol.
I spent my younger years growing up in this laid back country, and I can attest to it's seemingly forever rainfall. But without it you would not have the beautiful lush pine tree forests, and clean fresh mountain scenery. Oregons Crater Lake National Park, plunging 620 foot Multnomah Falls, and soaring snow peaked Mount Hood, are just a few of the wonderful sights
you might catch while visiting my old hometown.
So pack your suitcase, grab a jacket, give the dog a kiss goodbye and follow me to the prettiest state this side of the border, the beaver state,
Oregon, U.S.A.
The site below, is one of the best I've found for links and information, in "A place called Oregon." Have fun, enjoy the adventure! And while your there, tell Aunt Peg I said hi!!!
Check out A Place Called Oregon web site. Amazing!
